"Since we implemented OrthoPad, the most positive aspect of this EMR is that our physician’s are extremely satisfied with the product itself. In the past, when we were on a previous EMR, my office managers and I were often bombarded with; why does the product do this or why does it take me 3 clicks to get to the last note? Now we don’t have that problem and we’re looking at making improvements in the care that we provide to the patients because the software is designed to do that. Our cost savings by implementing OrthoPad were several. First we were able to reduce our total FTE’s by at least 2 within the first 6 months, and that essentially paid for the system. Second, in many groups you have expenses such as the light call system. A light call system is an expensive item that is really not needed if you use OrthoPad because its built into OrthoPad’s workflow. Third, is the intangible hard to measure costs saving of not having to have to chase charts around and doing other none value added tasks. With just these benefits, we have paid for the system. "

"Implementing OrthoPad has been one of the easiest transitions that we ever made. The cost savings were instant, and over time we had to have less space for storage and less people dealing with medical records. Our transcription costs have improved. It’s been easier to get our notes to our chart. OrthoPad’s template system is much easier to use. What you see at the end is exactly the same as what you would see if you were to dictate the note."
